Monkey See, Monkey Eat: Labour’s Day in the City

Monkeys Day Out 1

A. Lunch at 4 Seasons Chinese Restaurant, Capsquare:
The day started with the gathering of 4 monkeys. It was my first time in Capsquare. Felt damn jakun. Thank God I wasn’t the only one. It was Lyrical Lemongrass and KHKL‘s first time too. Ciki the socialite, has of course been here many times over. She even knew where the non-paying car park lots were. So, naturally she showed us around. But then, she didn’t know where the toilets were. *roll eyes*

The famous Bayswater Roasted Duck was just good. Apart from not having an M&Ms moment with it, we have nothing to fault about it. Can’t compare to the original as none of us has eaten there before. Aiya, it’s a good duck-lah. That’s all. No need to scrutinise it any more. We’re having the day off after all. Sakit kepala only. What was shoikaligam here was the Hong Kong-styled Chili Oil and surprisingly, the plain Fried Rice with Egg. Goes so well with the duck and other roasted meats.

Monkeys Day Out 2

B. Coffee, Desserts & Plenty of Laughs at Delicious Dua Annexe:
We all love this place. Dessert’s always reliable. Everyone has a favourite. Whether it’s the Banoffee Pie, Moist Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream or Carrot Cake, they never let us down. Coffee’s good and wine was…err, gotta ask Ciki, she the only one who drank.

There was also a good amount of space for us to laugh and roll around. We monkeys would have swing on the branches too if they let us. Apparently, we were very loud considering there was only 4 of us according to this blogger who was lurking in the background celebrating this other blogger‘s birthday. Happy Birthday Eugene! Anyways, call it sugar-high, caffeine-high, alcohol-high or just plain high on life, we made no apologies for being monkeys on our day off :0)

Monkeys Day Out 3

C. More Food and Monkey Business at 1Utama:
I bid farewell the 3 flogger monkeys and drove off to meet my two most favourite monkeys, McCutie and Le Bald Monyet (‘Le Monz‘ for short). Le Monz was kinda busy sms-ing all evening as he’s been missing his wife who’s in Koh Lipe celebrating a friend’s hens night. Who can blame him. I was missing my baby the entire day too. We arrived at the mall for dinner only to be greeted with a kaleidoscope of Japanese happenings, from cultural dances to cos-play characters and even rice cracker snacks. Made me thought of Tokyo for a good while. Really missed it. Had dinner at Paddington House of Pancake and realised that the place no longer serves the same pancake we’ve fallen in love with couple years ago. Recipe changed or whatever. But it’s OK. We just won’t be returning.

Walked around for a bit and ended up at Delicious (yes, again) for McCutie’s turn at the Carrot Cake and Watermelon & Lychee Blast. We were served by a waitress called Thit Thit. Cute name innit? INNIT? Wolverine the movie follow suit and I was thoroughly entertaining. However, true comic fans like McC and Le Monz screamed “Bollocks” at the storyline. Let’s hope J.J Abramm’s Star Trek at next week’s screening will sit better with these two monkeys. It does look very promising from the trailers we’ve seen so far.

And, that folks was how my long weekend started. So how did yours go?
