Liyen Moët & Chandon Champagne Mooncake, Redux

Since I’ve learned how to use the word ‘Redux‘ (thanks Ah Pa!), I thought why not put it to good use. Plus, I’m a lazy bugger. I’d rather be eating than making silly comics today. So, I’ve decided to reuse last year’s comics once again for the same moon cake this year. Hence, the ‘redux’ here. Why waste a good comic right?

RitzCarlton Li Yen Redux.jpg

To keep it all within the redux spirit, I’ll even throw in a quote from last year’s post

…no Mid-Autumn Festival would be complete (at least for this lil’ monkey) without indulging in the luxurious Moët & Chandon Champagne Mini Ping Pei mooncake from Ritz Carlton’s famed Liyen Chinese Restaurant. Screw Häagen-Dazs’ uber expensive ice cream mooncakes. If you have to splurge this season, spend them on these frosty white babies!

Made fresh to order with no preservatives (apparently they go bad within a week). One whiff of its soft champagne skin and a taste of its immaculate golden lotus paste will send you straight to bubbly heaven. Kinda like M&Ms, they melt in your mouth not in your hands. The only down side is its minuscule size. Measuring slightly larger than a 50-sens coin in diameter, these little wonders will disappear before you can say ‘Cheers!’.

These dainty delights are probably the only booze I’m able to consume (apart from FBB’s boozy cakes). So excuse me while I down a few more now. Bottoms up!

Thanks McCutie for pampering me with such pleasures again this year. Least you’re not like some other monkeys who’ll fight his wife for the last piece of moon cake (glares over here).  You’re the sweetest.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and a good 090909 to all of you..

Need to find another word now ;-) EVERYONE's using "redux." hahahaha ;-) The Moon Cake looks fab. Sigh. So much good food so little time. And needing to look at my everyday food more. Eating too much sometimes food. ;-)

Wandernut: It a gift, so I'll pretend not to know how much they cost. LOL. Let's just say it's worth the money one pays for these things
