Lesson Learned

Life has a funny way of turning up, and fate has a funny way of teaching us things. Now matter how careful we can prepare, how much time and effort we have invested in, how beautiful we can present and serve things in our lives, one thing we’ll learn is that things do not always happen as we plan it.

He broke my heart
And now it’s raining
Just don’t rub it in
I’m at your door
I feel so crazy ’bout it

You say “I told you so”
You saw it long ago
You knew he had to go
I finally came around
I’m back on solid ground
Can’t let it get me down

It’s alright
It’s alright

What we can’t plan for is the unexpected. And there will always been the unexpected, even if we have expected certain things, but there will always gonna be something that gets thrown at us unexpectedly. Who’s to expect that person knocking you over as you approach and serve him his lunch?

Shit Happens

Yes, shit can happen. Especially when we least expect it. A perfect plate of delicious noodles gone waste in a matter of seconds. And on that very sad shit-happens lunch, perhaps fate is trying to tell us something. For reasons unknown, perhaps we weren’t meant to have that meal at all.

Yes, I was burned but I call it a lesson learned
Mistakes overturned so I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned so I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned

Sometimes, some lies can take a minute to fully realize
His tears, your eyes, thirty seconds to apologize
You give it one more chance, just like the time before
But he already know, you’d give a hundred more
Until that night in bed, you wake up in a sweat
You’re racing to the door, can’t take it anymore

But in situations like these, there’ll always be a silver lining. Be thankful that the hot plate of noodle did not spilt on your lap and stained your clothes. And like all things in life, we gotta pick up the broken pieces and move on (note that I’m not using the word ‘if’ here) with life. We clean up the mess and choose to either salvage that plate of noodle or simply make another or just get something else.

And we walk away learning something from that accident: to be more careful. We look left, right and left again before we cross another street. We promise ourselves not to repeat the same mistakes and let ourselves get hurt.

Hope Prevails

Life perfect ain’t perfect
If you don’t know what the struggle’s for
Falling down ain’t falling down
If you don’t cry when you hit the floor
It’s called the past ’cause I’m getting past
And I ain’t nothing like I was before
You ought to see me now

As time passes by, we slowly get over that incident and plant a seed of hope. We learn that situations doesn’t always have to end ugly. We become less cautious of people’s actions. Less doubtful and more hopeful. We learn to look at the brighter side of life. And maybe, one day be less cynical and perhaps see the best in others. Until then, we’ll sit back and see what could flourish from here. Here’s to hoping for more brighter and more delicious days ahead!

Yes, I was burned but I call it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned so call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned so I call it a lesson learned

Full Bloom

p/s: Apologies if this mindless rambling doesn’t make sense. It’s just something this monkey needed to get off his chest. More delicious postings to come soon. Stay tune.

I see you’ve decided to forgo lunch and skip straight to the sweets :-)

Now that that’s off your chest, let’s find some time to enjoy the remains of the year, shall we?
